Kickstart Assist

KickStart Assist Scheme:

Community Empowerment Employment & Training C.I.C.(CEET), in conjunction with North London Partnership Consortium (NLPC) is supporting small companies and start-ups to apply for access to the KICKSTART Scheme.

What is Kickstart?

The Kickstart Scheme was recently announced by the Chancellor and expects to offer hundreds of thousands of job opportunities over the next few years. A £2 billion pot is available to fully fund NEW positions with businesses across the UK.

How it works:

The DWP Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people (16-24 years old) who are currently on benefits and at risk of long-term unemployment. The first jobs will be available from November and applications are now underway.

For each job placement, funding will cover:

• 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for a minimum of 25 hours a week
• associated employer National Insurance contributions
• employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

In addition, there will also be extra funding of up to £1,500 to support young people to build their experience and help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart Scheme funded job.
Kickstart Assist will act as your intermediary at no cost to your organisation (intermediaries are funded directly by the government).

We are supporting small employers by acting as an intermediary to support them to access the scheme so as not to miss out on this fantastic opportunity. Do not hesitate to contact us to find out how your organisation could benefit during these challenging times. As experienced training providers delivering skills, community support and employment-related services, CEET and NLPC, through Kickstart Assist are representing employers to bid for this scheme and will administer and provide all ‘required’ employability training and support, delivered flexibly to meet employer’s needs, as part of the Kickstart programme.

Experienced work coaches will support both you and your ‘Kickstarter’ before, throughout the 6-month placement and beyond to enable them to progress thereafter to appropriate employment, apprenticeships or further education. We will retain the cost of £700 for this support from the £1500 start-up payment, making a £800 payment to you, the employer, for each young person recruited to cover the cost of items such as uniforms and another setup/initial job-specific training costs.

If you, or any of your employer contacts, are interested in providing a placement, please get in touch via email: foyshal@ceet.org.uk
